CIPCA

LATIN AMERICA - BOLIVIE

The Centre for Research and Promotion of the Peasantry (CIPCA)  is a Bolivian non-governmental organization founded by Jesuits in 1970 and is currently one of the largest rural development NGOs in Bolivia. Its intervention, developed at the national and sub-regional level, is based on research, advocacy and field action. Its mission is to contribute to the effective exercise of the civil, cultural, economic, political, social and environmental rights of the country's indigenous peoples and, from this, participate in the construction of a democratic, equitable, intercultural country, economically and environmentally sustainable.

The program under Resilient Communities (CoRe) focuses on:

  • Scientific research and action research on successful experiences, socio-ecological resilience, the development and use of agro ecological indicators, and food sovereignty.
  • Training workshops for the exercise of rights in the sustainable management of common goods with emphasis on environmental justice.
  • Technical support for the development of proposals for indigenous farming communities to participate in the formulation of regional and national public policies.
