The Association of Women for Media and Development “TAM” was founded in September 2003 by a group of women media professionals and community work activists. The work of TAM is based on the principles of human rights and gender equality, democracy, justice, non-violence, dialogue, the fight against all forms of discrimination, and protection of physical and moral freedoms. TAM's mission is to work toward a free and democratic society characterized by justice and equality in which women exercise their rights without discrimination.
The TAM program in the CPP focuses on the following activities:
- Organize training for women farmers on climate change, food sovereignty, sustainable economic and productive systems and organic agriculture, leadership and communication in targeted areas
- Design and implement women farmer initiatives aimed at increasing their access to natural resources and establishing a link between communities and local authorities to promote their access to social and rural development programs; formalize consultation or cooperation frameworks with local authorities to ensure recognition of their environmental rights
- Develop and conduct institutional awareness and advocacy plans, targeting at least 500,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries, on environmental issues, the consumption of agro-ecological products, mitigation practices and adaptation to the effects of climate change, food sovereignty, sustainable economic and productive systems and organic agriculture through dissemination in the media, social networks, etc.
- Organize training and coordinate research on documenting Israeli violations of natural resources for 45 women and 45 men (community leaders, journalists, activists, human rights defenders).
